How do you 'promote' your blog?
How do you increase traffic and make people aware of your blog??
I know repurposing blog posts into twitter threads and also linking your blog on twitter and Instagram are all great methods. But is there anything else out there that can help?
I'm talking REAL spikes in traffic...
I think it depends on your niche. Maybe a good question to ask is:
How can I give value to people/websites with big audiences in my niche?

Do you use Twitter to promote your blog?
Hello @LouTromans, I think that it might depend on your target audience. For my blog, blog.granthackers.club, I try to provide value to (mainly) academics who need help to improve their grant writing skills, processes and strategy. It also is useful to, e.g., startups, SMEs or NGOs that need to apply for funding. As such, a very good place to promote the blogposts is LinkedIn and also twitter (both with suitable hashtags and @mentions).
The other thing I do is use Buffer to schedule the post at suitable times ( I only have a free account). I experimented a bit with the best times and it makes quite a difference.
So, i would say:
[1] define clearly what the value proposition for the blog is
[2] identify the right audience
[3] look to the places where they are more likely to be found and post there.
It helps this helps a bit.
