How do you manage to stay on top of your "Output" a.k.a. ship products and stay productive, while also participating in threads and communities?
P.s. not counting in those whose only job is to engage and grow groups and communities :p
I have a dedicated amount of time during the week for consumption (30 minutes a day) so that I don't feel guilty for coming to Reddit and IndieHackers, etc
For me, those are two different things. That‘s why I‘m splitting it up.
In the mornings I‘m working on my project and do all the creative stuff. In the evenings I‘ll engage with communities, reply to tweets, etc. This helps me to focus on one thing and avoid context switching.
One benefit to interact with communities in the evening is the time zone shift. As somebody from central Europe, the US wakes up at that time.
Agreed = two diff things. Hence my question.
I like that split. Makes sense.
How do you determine where you want to spend more time?
Having a lot of trouble with this too. The end result is that I don't spend much time promoting my product... And only do it in random spurts.
I hope that I'll have more time in the future, but also am aware that this is exactly what someone caught in the build trap would say.
I'm getting some organic growth now, and I think features and bug fixes are more important for now... Might flip my focus in the future. We'll see!
