How do you speed up product development?
I'm interested in hearing from startups that have a Tech leader (CTO, VP Eng., etc.) and how you guys speed up development?
There's probably a whole roadmap of features you need to build but, with limited people, I'm wondering how can you actually speed it up?
Best way to cut down scope, build a more streamline process (development > deploy > a> etc.), or add more help to the team.
Scope is where I'd start. Take a look at your feature buckets and think about what would be the first iteration of that feature. If you're going too slow you may be trying to build out features that are too large.
What's your biggest blocker right now in speeding things up? And why do you need to speed things up?
Build less. Of course that's easier said than done. It requires an immense amount of knowledge gathering and understanding to know what 20% to build that will give you 80% of the returns, and an equal amount of discipline to actually stay focused on building that subset. Other than that, hire great people.
