How does the ranking on Product Hunt work?
Hello everyone,
We just launched our product on Product Hunt, and even though we have received 170 upvotes and plenty of comments (no bots used or anything sketchy), our product is not showing up on the front page.

I doesn't make any sense.
This is what I found on the Product Hunt website:
The homepage changes throughout the day based on the number of upvotes, time since submission, and other factors*.
- Of course, we cannot reveal exactly how the algorithm works or it might be gamed.
Update: There were indeed one or two products that used bots to go up to the very top, but Product Hunt removed their upvotes by the end of the day, and they finished below us.
I went to bed as #9 product of the day, with the first product having over 1K upvotes, and woke up as #4 product of the day, and the other product now only had 500+ votes.
I wish Product Hunt algorithms would catch such abuse immediately instead of letting them gain traction and visibility for the whole day.
