Hi everyone
I’m Edison, a character designer and 2D animator with 30+ years of experience in the animation industry. I’ve worked on films like Curious George, Spirit, Titan A.E., Anastasia, Green Eggs and Ham, and others.
These days, I’ve been working more directly with indie creators — helping them visualize their ideas through character design and illustrations for pitch decks, games, children's books, and early-stage products.
But I’m honestly curious:
I’m trying to better understand how I can support early-stage teams. I love helping people bring their ideas to life, especially in the early, messy stage where a sketch can be more powerful than a polished brand.

I’d really appreciate any insights — and if I can help you visualize your idea or just offer feedback, I’d be happy to.
Visuals help a lot. It's hard to validate your idea with potential users and investors if they can't see what you're talking about. But, unfortunately, many early-stage founders choose AI to help them with this task instead of hiring an experienced designer.
Totally agree—visuals can make or break that early pitch. I’ve seen firsthand how much clearer an idea becomes when it’s supported by thoughtful design. While AI has its place, there’s something about collaborating with an experienced designer that brings nuance, emotion, and storytelling into the mix—especially when you're trying to stand out. I still talk to a lot of founders who realize they need that kind of input to really elevate their vision. I'm always happy to chat with founders who want to turn their ideas into compelling visuals that actually connect.
Right. Human expertise is still irreplaceable.
I hear you... and I agree to an extent. Human expertise matters, but to me, That is just the knowledge or technical skill and I think that is replaceable (AI can already replicate a lot of that). What really sets a person apart is intuition, emotional sensitivity, and the ability to translate abstract ideas into something that feels right for the audience. That kind of creative instinct is tough, if not impossible, for AI to replicate in a meaningful way.
That’s what I try to bring to every project: not just visuals, but connection :)
