Growing your product from 0 is difficult. As a growth marketer, you need to experiment a lot to find the right channels and the right audience for your product.
Building comparison pages can help when you compare your product features with other alternatives.
This can lead to better conversions as they might help convince leads who are right on the fence about purchasing your product.
It will also boost your SEO as most of the high intent people looking for better alternatives to your competition might find you.
So I came across this tool built by a friend, which can help you build comparison pages on the fly. No need to waste development hours or efforts to SEO optimise and easily editable.
Do check it out at https://comparepage.io
P.S. There is no affiliate nor any pricing for the first 100 subscribers. We are also open to hosting a few pages for free in exchange for some cool feedback.
Hey Ronak, nice idea!
I am in the phase with my project when I need comparison pages.
Just checked your link and explanation there and have a question regarding SEO.
There you mentioned this will boost my domain. How that works?
Since this can be hosted on a subdomain. From my experience I think it's better to host this kind of content on the main domain, because it'll rank better.
Is is possible to customize design or embed into WP?
I'm working with Ronak on this one!
SEO - these pages are meant to target "your product name vs <competitor>". or "Alternatives to <main competitor>".
"Since this can be hosted on a subdomain. From my experience I think it's better to host this kind of content on the main domain, because it'll rank better." - not necessarily.
"Is is possible to customize design or embed into WP?" - at the moment you can't customize the design. You could iframe it into a wordpress site if you wanted to but hosting on the subdomain is the most common for now.
This is a nice micro-SaaS idea. I do think that the "can I host this on my own website" is a bit below the fold. This was my first question after reading the headline.
I guess a good second step would be to offer a "competitor analysis" so you kinda create the comparison pages for clients.
With programmatic comparison pages, will you get penalised SEO-wise if there's like loads of content repeating on different pages? Like if each page had 'my competitor' and then 'my company' then the content about my company is repeating over and over on 100's of URLs
Not that we've seen so far, but it's a great point. But the intent of the page matters, if you're comparing yourself against a competitor (or several on one page) there will be duplicate content in that column.
Okay cool, yeah I guess as long as google understands it's a comparison page or site they'd expect that - otherwise comparison sites would go out of business haha
This is pretty cool! I've been curious about comparison pages ever since I read about Steven Macdonald of KingsPoint OU who used this technique to bring in 76,000 organic visits.
He targeted keywords like "alternatives to [your product]" and "[your product] alternative." He recommends creating a 1500-word landing page that includes a fair writeup of the differences between you and three competitors. Then he suggests building some backlinks, and linking to the page internally from your homepage and four blog posts.
Nice this is great! Thanks for sharing. Just curious, what's one of the biggest myths or misconceptions you face in this field? D
for me it's that with very specific long tail keywords, you can start to rank quickly. SEO for more competitive terms is obviously a long term play but you can stack little wins.
wait, so the benefits of targeting long tail keywords are a myth, or the opposite?
srry. im saying long tail keyword ranking is quick, more competitive keywords obvs take longer to rank for. This tool is focused on long tail keywords.
ah I see, thanks!
