How indie hackers dotcom should be making money 💰💰💰

@csallen and @channingallen, I'm so intrigued to see what you'll do as you are currently operating as an indie business again and are exploring ways to generate revenue. If I had a magic wand, these are the things I would love to see implemented, and I would be more than willing to pay for them.

Ideas:

Community Stages: I find myself in the "I've validated my idea and am building my MVP" stage. I would gladly invest in organized meetups with individuals in the same stage as me. By connecting with like-minded people, we could form a support network and forge friendships. It would be great to witness their MVP launches and see them progress to the "looking for my first customer" stage. As they advance, I would feel motivated to complete my MVP and join them in the next stage, allowing us to continue attending meetups together.
While I can arrange my own meetups, I don't want to spend all my free time organizing them. My primary focus is getting my MVP off the ground. If someone else could take charge of organizing these meetups, I would gladly pay to participate, especially if it helps me transition from my current stage to the next.

Emulating Y-Combinator: What if we could compete with Y-Combinator, albeit on a smaller scale? I would love to submit my idea to indie hackers and be invited to a central location for a week-long indie hacking event. This event could culminate in a hackathon, we'd be amongst some of the most promising indie hacking projects and it would wrap up with a showcase on demo day. If investors or individuals with extensive networks were present on demo day, and we could showcase our work to them, there would be a glimpse of something amazing emerging from it all. I would willingly pay to participate in such an event. In fact, I would even pay a submission fee for the chance to be considered for an invitation to Indie-Combinator.

Ultimately, the problem we are trying to solve is the need for community support to drive progress. As a full-time employee and father of two, I dedicate my evenings from 7 pm to 11 pm to my indie hacking endeavors. There are certainly days when I take breaks and other days I feel like giving up. Nevertheless, my biggest fear is that one day I will quit for good. While today may not be that day, having a group of individuals at my current indie hacking stage, with whom I can resonate and share excitement, or being invited to an incredible Indie-Combinator event, would be worth the investment. Both of these opportunities could serve as catalysts in realizing my dream and becoming a successful indie hacker.

I strongly believe that implementing these ideas would benefit the indie hacking community. By providing organized meetups for different stages and emulating the success of Y-Combinator on a smaller scale, we can create an environment where indie hackers can thrive and succeed. I am ready to invest in these opportunities as they hold the potential to turn dreams into reality.
