How to code a bank?

Hello, I want to open an e-money account which works pretty much like a bank in the UK/EU.

In the UK there's just one company who is regulated in this very niche activity but they seem not so collaborative.

Any ideas?

You don't code it. You buy reliable and certified back office platform and put a fronted in front of it that is a max or you buy the fronted as well. For example N26 uses https://www.mambu.com/ there are many similar one.

do you know if n26 is still built on mambu?

Good question. I'm not sure. Since they become a real bank, they might change it.

Thanks for that, Mambu is for real bank, this will definitely help in the future. At the moment I need someone who deals with e-money account only because to open a bank is much complicated. Anyway, I'll get in touch with Mambu to understand if they can help my specific case and get back to this post in the case someone needs.

With the e-money license, you also provide basic bank account functionality like holding funds and transferring money, issuing credit cards, etc. unless you are purely interested in issuing digital money on a blockchain, but even in that case you have to provide essential account management functions like deposit and withdraw and payments. So I don't think it is much different from this point of view between real or digital. The whole point of the regulation was to provide a similar framework for digital money as we have for the fiat one.

I had a meeting with Mambu, they are a kind of Zapier for banks, I think I'm going with them, they are also the only one who gives you an appointment without making you the X-Ray.
Of course, to get further you need to provide a business case (I'm just writing in the case someone is interested).

Make it easy for people to interact with their bank accounts and investments.
Are you sure is for banks and not for people who have a bank account?

It doesn't look fit for a bank or similar

Modulr is interesting but not suitable for the purpose of building a bank. Griffin is pretty interesting!
