How to find product ideas?

1. Make sure that you idea is about a problem (e.g. finding leads in the IH community is hard) and not about a solution (e.g. a Saas product that gives a list of IH users)
2. Find other people that have the problem that you're trying to solve with your idea. This will tell you if (1) there's anyone who needs it and (2) if you can reach them?
3. From the conversation, try to understand if (1) they really need the product vs it being just a nice-to-have, (2) how much would they be willing to pay, (3) are they the ones making the paying decision
4. Find a subset of your potential customers and determine a common denominator. This group will be your niche
5. Build the smallest product that solves the problem(s) that you've identified and that you can sell
6. Profit

I start by the thinking of problems that I personally encounter. If I research it (usually 10 minutes of googling) and there is no good solution, I consider it as a possibility.

Once you have your idea, then it is a journey of validation and tiny progress. Always come back to the core problem you first thought of when you lose faith. 😃
