How to improve design skills to build the product?

Hey fellow hackers,

I've recently started my journey of building products. I didn't know much already, so started from the groundup(basic html,css, then react and little bit of node then). My journey: https://futureland.tv/rishabh/projects/22367

Now, from last few days, I'm trying very hard to do design/thinking about layouts, which section or functionality should go to which place of the screen, how it should be, what should be the primary or brand color of the product but at the end, I just can't do that. I can't think of any concrete step to take to progress. I've absolutely zero background in this thing(coming from ML side of programming).

Couldn't even design a good basic layout for a blog.

Is there anything that I'm doing wrong? What do you think how can I improve myself in this aspect?
