How to Speed up the Web Development Process?

Web development is undoubtedly going to be a tough part. But doing hard work instead of using the modern solution is not what smart developers do,

The entire process of web development involves,

  1. Plan everything at first before you start coding
  2. Break down the entire project into manageable small parts
  3. Pick the right tools and technology
  4. Improve the quality of code
  5. Proper testing and execution

Suggest down which modern tools you use at each stage of the development process and why you use them.

Next.js is a pretty great web framework, it provides a ton of useful stuff.

Typescript is also pretty important, otherwise you spend a lot of time on bugs caused by typos.

In general here are some rules for frontend in 2021:

    • Live reloading the page on changes is essential.
    • Do Not write your bundler configs by hand (Webpack or whatever). It's just a huge waste of time. Just use a framework where things work out of the box.
    • Even if you can code the whole thing yourself, don't be afraid to just buy a template (like https://themeforest.net/tags/react ). $30 is a huge bargain if it saves you time.

Consultant/Dev here from a ~300 person org. The planning/breaking down points are huge.

We use an agile framework called SAFe, and as difficult as it is to stay focused through these, we run what is called PI planning, or program increment planning. You basically take the first "chunk" of what you're building (could be first 10 features, or first 3-4 sprints) and run through epic/feature/story definition. From there, the project can be pretty self-sustaining from a dev team.

On a micro-scale, I think doing the same for solo-dev is equally as important. Push through defining what it is you're building to help keep you on track. It can certainly be a less heavy method, but sticking to a sprint filled with work can help challenge yourself and be used as a motivation tool as well.

I have recently used polypane Browser where Best tools during Front End dev and while checking responsivenss.

    • Multipanes view with workspace, where you can save different panes setup as workspaces depending on your development stack.

    • Live CSS editor with inspection tool for classes/ id picker and autocorrection. Besides, you can try out different Google Fonts which will be loaded automatically by Polypane.

    • Grid, ruler, column, row in the pane for perfect pixel design

    • A lot of accessibility tools, which I may not use it, but I hope that I can use it in the future.

Boosts up the web dev process by 5x. as they have mentioned in their website.

Monthly subscription can be annoying that's why I bought a lifetime deal from SaaS mantra just for $69 one time payment
