How you ramp up your sales skills?

I call my self a part time indie hacker -- I have my 9-5 job as software developer, only build stuff at night after kid go to bed. I love to build things to solve my own problem, however, I found the hardest part is to sell my solution/product to others or let as much as people to know and get feedbacks.

TBH, I hate sales, but I know it's an essential step to the indie hacker world. I have tried that build a tool and release it to app store and just let it go to see how it goes, but it has been there 4, 5 years and couple releases, nowadays, still single digit MAU :D

Recently I build another app, and found there's a new concept 'Build in public" raised, after google awhile, I think I like the idea but, I still don't know how to run it -- just keep post questions/ideas on twitter and reddit before build it?

I have lurk at this community for years, and why I just ask helps from the community, I believe that one of the reason Allen build this community right?
