I accidentally deleted this...

3 weeks back I was deleting some Notion docs

I stumbled across an old doc...
'SaaS Marketing Tips directory'

I accidentally deleted it...

But not before Ctrl C + Ctrl V on my personal WhatsApp chats

Here are 10 tips from SaaS Marketing directory I accidentally deleted...

This doc is not just any doc...

I used to store each and every lesson I learn on this doc

I started doing this a year ago...when I noticed I was learning a lot of lessons from founders

So I decided to list all my learnings in this file

This is 1 year worth of learning:

  1. Offer discounts/offers in the first week of the month

  2. Send physical gifts like chocolate boxes, handwritten cards and personalized hoodies to early users

  3. Create a system where if they use your free SaaS plan for a particular task, they can tweet about it!

  4. Ask users to confirm their subscription by replying with a simple ‘YES’ on the first welcome email message

  5. When creating referral programs, offer more of the same thing on the software for referring to their friends and family.

  6. Give the software away for free and sell the info-product instead

  7. Collaborate with other influencers/competitors in your industry and create a lead magnet/paid product to tap into each other's audience

  8. It is either a traffic problem or an offer problem

  9. Make use of integrated marketing to get website visitors on autopilot by collaborating with SaaS that has a similar audience

  10. Create different communities for users of different tiers.

  • Gold community for gold members
  • Silver community for silver members
  • Bronze community for bronze members
  1. Have a proper onboarding sequence to eliminate buyers remorse

  2. Start using challenges and digital products to reduce the cost to acquire a customer

  3. Gamify the SaaS users by ranking against other users in terms of daily activity, time of usage, and stuff

  4. Incentivize the already paying and Happy users by actively giving them give away offer discounts happy once in a while like a month

  5. have a chat board that will help users communicate with you and give you feedback regularly

  6. Use 'Powered by … '
to get more people to notice your brand

  7. Offer a free subscription in exchange for a video to influencers

My friend Bob says Tech founders suck at marketing...especially emails
