I built 26 free HTML templates that need zero npm — here's what I learned

I got tired of free templates that required a 47-step setup process
before you could even see what they looked like.

So I built 26 of my own. Every single one is a single .html file.
No npm. No Node.js. No Webpack. No Vite. No React.

Just open it in a browser and it works.

What I built:

26 templates across 12 industries — SaaS landing pages, e-commerce
stores, restaurant menus, medical clinics, real estate, portfolios,
agencies, fitness studios, and more.

Each one uses Tailwind CSS via CDN and vanilla JavaScript.
All MIT licensed. All free to download.

Current status:

  • Just launched
  • 1 impression on Google Search Console so far (position 9 🙂)
  • Submitted sitemap, working on backlinks
  • Posted on Dev.to, launching on Product Hunt this Saturday

What I'm trying to figure out:

  1. How do you get initial traction for a free tool with no email list?
  2. Is "no build step HTML templates" a real niche or am I the only
    one who wanted this?
  3. Any directories or communities I'm missing for this type of project?

Would love feedback from anyone who's launched a free resource site.
