I Built a Browser Extension Because I Missed One Feature

Hey everyone, I'm rokcso.

I was a huge fan of the Arc browser, mostly for its simple cmd+shift+C shortcut to copy a URL. When I switched back to Chrome, I was shocked that this feature didn't exist. My muscle memory was broken, and I was constantly opening the Dev Tools just to copy a link.

I tried other extensions, but they were all clunky and unreliable. So, I decided to build my own.

The biggest challenge was making it work everywhere. Most extensions fail on certain pages. I solved this using a modern Chrome API that runs the clipboard operations in a secure background environment, making it almost perfectly reliable.

From that solid foundation, I added features like custom copy templates, smart URL cleaning to remove tracking junk, and batch processing.

The result is Arclet Copier. It started as a personal hack to solve my own daily frustration and has now grown into a polished product. It’s a simple tool, but it’s one that makes my day a little bit better, thousands of times.
