I built a sleep calculator and turned it into a tiny paid sleep planner

Hi Indie Hackers,

I recently built Sleep Calculator, a free tool that helps people calculate a practical bedtime, wake-up time, and sleep-cycle options.

The calculator is free. I also added a small paid layer for people who want to turn a result into something actionable:

  • a 7-day better sleep plan
  • a personalized sleep routine PDF
  • a Notion sleep tracker template

This is very early, and I’m deliberately trying to learn before adding more features.

I’d really value feedback on two things:

  1. Does this make sense as a product, or should I keep it purely free and content-led?
  2. If you’ve launched a small consumer wellness tool, what helped you earn the first few customers without relying on ads?

The project: https://sleepcalculator.life/

I’m happy to share what I learn as I go.

I like the shift from giving someone an answer to helping them act on it.

A lot of useful tools stop at "here's your result." The harder product question is whether users value having a plan they can actually follow more than another calculation.
