I built a small “countdown gift” tool – would you use this?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently building a small side project called “Open Tomorrow” and I’d love some honest feedback.

The idea is simple:

You can create a private countdown for someone (e.g. your partner or a friend), where they can open one message, photo or memory per day – like a digital advent calendar, but personal.

I built it because I felt that sending a single message or gift often feels a bit… flat. I wanted something that builds anticipation and creates a small emotional moment every day.

Right now it’s a very early version, but usable.

I’m trying to understand:

  • Does this concept make sense to you?

  • Would you actually use something like this?

  • In which situations (birthday, long distance, etc.)?

Here’s the link if you want to try it:

Really appreciate any honest feedback 🙏

Makes sense. Most people focus on the wrong things first. Once positioning is clear, everything becomes easier.

This is interesting. I see something similar with creators — they grow fast but don’t really know how to turn it into something sustainable.

This is actually a really nice idea. I like the emotional side of it, not just another tool. Feels more personal. Who do you think would use this the most?

This is such a beautiful concept! One thing I was wondering about is data security; because people are sharing personal memories, privacy will likely be their biggest concern. Also, adding a daily notification for the recipient could really amplify that 'surprise' effect you mentioned. Anyway, great job! I'm also a solo dev working on a study tool here in Italy, so I know exactly how much effort goes into making these concepts feel 'simple.' Keep it up!

This actually hits home for long distance relationships. Sending a bunch of photos in one go usually gets buried in the chat history but having a dedicated space for one memory a day makes it feel way more intentional. I could see myself using this for an anniversary countdown. Does it allow for short video clips too or just photos for now?
