I Built a Software to Save $300/month from Bitly

Let's get through my requirements first:

• I want a link shortener
• I want my shortlinks to use my own domain name
• I want to be able to edit my shortlink text
• I want to be able to change my shortlink destination
• I want to view link clicks and other analytics

This above list is provided by pretty much all link shorteners. They all make some of these features free while keeping some others paid.

Bitly, for instance, highly limits how many shortlinks you can create per month, only allows custom domains on their paid plans, and so on. And as you guessed, their Premium plan charges $300/month.

The previous lists is kind of standard but my requirements also include some features that I think should be included by all link shorterners but they aren't. For instance,

• I want to keep my shortlink visitors on my site instead of sending them to the destination site
• I want to add call-to-action on my shortlinks in order to convert visitors into leads and buyers
• I want to add Facebook, Google, and other remarketing pixels on my shortlinks for follow up marketing

And, off course, I wouldn't get these features even with the $300/month plan from Bitly. So, I am actually trying to go beyond $300/month in savings.

I also have a constraint that may also be seen as a feature:

-I use WordPress for building my websites, so I want my software to work with it. As a result, I decided to build a WordPress plugin instead of a full blown software, meaning it it can only be used with WordPress.
