I built this app in a day. I never expected it to reach #2 on the App Store.

A few months ago, I built a simple MVP in a single day to solve a problem I kept running into.

I was constantly switching between Claude, Codex, Gemini, and ChatGPT just to check my usage.

So I built UsageScope.

I honestly thought only a handful of people would ever use it.

Instead, it recently reached #2 in the Mac App Store (Developer Tools) in South Korea. 🇰🇷

That was something I never expected.

Looking back, I think the biggest lesson wasn't that I built it quickly—it was that I solved a problem I personally had.

It's still a solo project, and I'm continuing to improve it based on user feedback every week.

If you're sitting on an idea, don't wait until it's perfect. Ship the MVP. You might be surprised by what happens.

This is such a real pain. AI costs are the first expense in years you can’t predict from traffic alone. One prompt change or a runaway agent loop and your bill triples overnight. I’ve felt this myself, so the timing feels right. The feature I’d want most: not just “what happened” but “which feature or prompt version is burning the budget.” That’s the difference between a dashboard and a decision tool.

That's just one thing about solving ones problem. There are also alot of people having the same problem and are actively looking for a solution

This is a good reminder that the strongest products often start as “visibility tools for your own workflow.” The usage problem here isn’t niche—it’s actually a growing meta-problem as AI stacks multiply. The surprise traction usually means the pain is more universal than expected.
