I want to share why I disabled all new paying customer notifications besides churn.
Some days I feel that I can't do it and feel miserable, and some days I regard myself as the most mighty human on the planet and can do everything.
My current guess is that both feelings don't matter much and are produced by my attachment to failures and wins. Yes, wins.
Seeing notifications about new customers raises my mood and makes me feel "happier". But it is costly. The price I pay is mood swings, and I feel miserable on other days when nobody subscribes.
I have disabled all notifications and feel much better. But that's not the only reason—working further on my internal peace.
I think thats a good decision. We can often fall into the trap of putting our identity in our business, making it our happiness.
Something im still working on.
It sounds like disabling the new paying customer notifications was a positive step for you. It's understandable that receiving notifications about new customers would raise your mood, but it's also important to consider the cost of that happiness. It's great that you recognized the toll the notifications were taking on your mood and made a decision to prioritize your internal peace. It's important to find a balance between external validation and internal contentment, and it seems like you're on the right track. Keep up the good work!
You're right, sometimes it is required. I have had the same experience while working on a project; in 8 months, I didn't gain any more paying customers. My feelings were quite negative because I put in effort daily without seeing any results.
I took a break from work for 14 days and then resumed working, but only part-time compared to full-time. I was my own boss, and it worked well!
Sometimes, it is necessary to pause our work for some time to maintain peace of mind.
One suggestion:
If your product has a high customer churn rate, you can try using a customer retention tool like Churnfree. It can help you win back your customers with its retention flows.
This tool can save up to 46% of customer churn requests, depending on the product and offers you make to retain your customers.
Wish you best of luck for your future work!
Having our mood attach to a number is not the healthiest. It's a powerful tool, if used correctly it can push you beyond when you need it, but you have to be mindful of when and how to use it
Good thinking here.
And I'm back!!! Yes, I'm THE EGO, King Size!!!
Good problem to have, congratulations
