"I enjoy what I do so much that it can actually be a problem. It's hard for me to step away because I'm so interested in the work and the technologies and what have you — there are so many different pieces to entrepreneurship that I never really get bored. It's a problem because, unless I specifically allocate time to something else, I can find myself in the weeds for days, weeks, or even months on end because I've been enjoying what I'm doing so much. In the meantime, I'm neglecting other areas of my life, whether it's going to the gym or hanging out with the family or taking time off with friends. I mean, you only have so many hours in a day. I need to just step away sometimes, just to kind of clear my head and take a more strategic view. But even if I do take a break from work and delve into a hobby that I enjoy, my brain always tends towards, 'Could I build a company out of this? Could I make it better or more accessible?' I literally start turning a hobby, which is intended to get me away from work, into a job. That's probably objectively not a good idea. All of this is because I enjoy the work so much, but none of it necessarily moves the needle for me or makes the output any better. It's just a passion of mine. And it has some obvious downsides."⠀
Welcome to the club. I fully sympathise. But it's fun :-)
