I got 450 visitors from one reddit post with zero ad spend, here's exactly what i did

been marketing my saas on reddit for over a year now. tried everything - ads (waste of money), cold outreach (got banned twice), random posting (zero traction)

then i figured out the system that actually works:

  1. find 5 subreddits where your customers already complain about the problem you solve
  2. spend 2 weeks commenting with actual helpful advice, no links no mentions
  3. post a story not an ad. "heres what happened when i tried X" works 10x better than "check out my tool"
  4. post between 6-9am EST on weekdays. first 60 minutes determine if your post lives or dies
  5. engage with every single comment. reddit algorithm rewards active threads

one post in the right sub at the right time got me 450 visitors in 24 hours. no ads no tricks just the right content in the right place

i got so obsessed with this process that i built a tool around it called mediafast. it automates the subreddit research and posting schedule part so i dont spend 5 hours on research before writing one post

biggest lesson: reddit is not a marketing channel its a community. once you get that mindset shift everything changes

happy to answer questions about what worked and what didnt

Good job, sounds interesting! Was it easy to get an access to the Reddit API? We've been struggling with that
