I just got this awesome idea but...

Hey All!

I think i got a pretty cool idea for a new type of recognition software for Enterprise communication applications. The thing is, as with all my awesome ideas, somebody is already doing it.

The idea is to make something like HeyTaco, but instead of just giving out random emojis to people, you could give trees. Each time you give a tree to a coworker, we would ensure that a real Tree is planted for you.

Thing is, IT ALREADY EXISTS, in Finland. I think it could be appropriate to build it nonetheless as i think it could be cool for companies to plant trees in their own countrie, and we could possibly help them get taxes deduction for using our software?

Should i pursue this? I really love the idea lol. But feeling like a copycat at this point.

As controversial as it seems reach out to Finland Startup and share your excitement, and learn from their mistakes. This is a social impact startup and people in this space are (or like to be perceived) transparent and not money hungry so they will help you out. Chances are you might partner up and avoid the logistical hassle of planting trees..

That is a good way to think about it! I already reached out via their chat bot on the website. Awaiting answers

I would email the founders directly.

If you feel you can make it work, then do it. Competitors are not a bad thing...and we need lots of projects to help grow more trees.

Very true indeed. I just have to get off my butt and do it!
