I launched 1,000 AI-run businesses. Here's what separated the ones that worked.

A year ago I set out to answer one question: if an AI could build and run a business end-to-end — ship the product, launch the marketing, chase the customers — what would happen?

1,000 launches later, three things surprised me:

1. The breakthrough wasn't AI writing code — it was AI deciding what to build. Every other AI coding tool still makes you prompt it step by step and unblock it constantly. That's not building a business — it's a second job. The shift: you define what you want, walk away, and it decides what to ship next — landing page, checkout, the next feature — on its own.

2. Shipping the product was never enough — the ones that worked ran every day. Not launch-and-pray. The winners had something posting, running ads, and doing outreach daily — the compounding grind founders burn out on. The part humans skip and AI doesn't.

3. Speed changed what an idea is worth. When you can stand up a real business in an afternoon instead of a quarter, the cost of being wrong collapses — so you ship instead of debate.
