I left a developers team I joined at school

2018(Nov) was the year I entered the University as a Computer Science student. I wasn't one of the individuals in my school who offered computer science because they heard of its benefits. I've been a tech enthusiast since childhood. Built a whole social media with PHP(no frameworks) when I was in Senior High(I used to be addicted)

After I got admission into my University, some of my senior coursemates noticed how skilled I was(I'm not any skilled, it's just because they are so unskilled) and asked me to join a team they had built(that's in 2019). Everything sounded promising so I joined this team. I was new hence I was waiting to know how things were done and projects they were undertaking. Hmmm, these guys had nothing.

I've been in the team for a while now(that's 2020) and we now have a plan or something to build. We came up with meeting dates and everything was set but these guys started skipping meetings for nearly no reason, team leader also not really serious(that's what I think). We had this idea in January and it's now March but we still have nothing(just an NPM module I built to make the work quite easy).

So today I realized I could use our meeting time for something else, hence, I decided to leave the team. This morning I sent him a long message that I'm leaving the team and wishing them the best in their journey. Guess what? Instantly I got removed from all WhatsApp groups(which is normal because I'm no longer part of them) and these guys seem to be mad at me for leaving. I thought that was a personal decision but these guys have taken it so personal and I have cool friends there too. I know I did the right thing.

Is it good to be in a bad team with skilled individuals or a good team with unskilled individuals?
