I need some feedback on my idea please!
I was fortunate not to have lost my job during the Pandemic... but I know a lot of people have not been so lucky. Finding a decent job... is a JOB and can be overwhelming to keep it all straight and to properly vet each job to make sure that it is a quality position.
Often when I looked for a job I would have to bounce around from multiple sites to make sure that everything was in order and looked good.
For example if I found a software engineering job at AT&T that looked good on a job boardI'd want to

Check out AT&T on Glassdoor.com to hear what employees thought about the company, and to see reviews and to look at benefits as well as general sentiment towards to company

Check out LinkedIn to see if I had any 1st or 2nd level connections that I could reach out too for referrals

Check out Salary.com or Payscale.com for salary expectations for my level of experience, geo, etc.

Usually I'd check out Indeed.com for a list of skills and certifications needed for this job or similar jobs

If I'm really committed I might check the Bureau of Labor Stats or another source that details the job growth trajectory for the given position

I might want to brush up on my skills so I also look for Udemy.com courses that cover topics related to the job description .

I want a SINGLE place that I can aggregate, view and filter through all of my jobs that I'm considering applying for and then tracking them through the process.
Currently I am using all of these in addition to a lot of manual entry in a Notion Doc for my sanity.... There has to be a better way.
I'm thinking about launching a chrome extension that works with job boards that will take all of this heavy lifting out. Simply hover over the job description and get an instant snapshot of the job to reduce your job search DRAMATICALLY.

Sounds like an interesting idea, though I'm not sure how you would monetize it. How many companies would you profile?
Also, not sure this would need to be a chrome extension. It could easily be a website (then you don't have to build out all of the integrations with job boards).
That, or it could even be a newsletter that profiles new job listings.

So the idea would be that as you're browsing Indeed.com it would do a lookup of all of these things on the fly so that you wouldn't have to bounce between sites and you could quickly discard places that you wouldn't like to work at. I would monetize by charging for the extension... maybe 5-10$ a month as a time saver for them.
Also companies like Huntr.com (also a Chrome extension) make $13k MRR as a place to aggregate your jobs from across the web (among other things). Which JobShot (what I am calling it) will do as well.
If it were a website how would I monetize? Would I have to source jobs myself and then provide the market data on them and charge access to the job board? Same question for the newsletter.
Huntr looks like it's primarily a SaaS (if you look at the demo board: https://huntr.co/demo/589189b5448fe5e45f01256c/board). The extension is just for adding stuff.
That's what I'm thinking for you as well. Basically having a chrome extension for adding stuff, but ultimately getting people back to the web app to view all of their saved stuff.

Hmm I'd imagine the details of how the tool works are important. The market seems fine: people looking for jobs. But how exactly would the tool work? And how would people find it?
I wonder if it would help clarify your idea to do some low-effort sketches or mockups that illustrate a concrete example of what you're thinking. That way, you could also show potential users that mockup and it would be easy for them to tell if they'd get value out of it.

My next question is how to find potential customers and talk to them. Maybe https://www.recurse.com/ ? Really great community of programmers that are mostly all looking for jobs
