The internet is drowning in “Top 100 Tools That Will Change Your Life” lists.
Half the time they feel like they’re written by a robot that’s trying to sell me a subscription and a philosophy. Mind you I could be ABSOLUTELY wrong but that's how I've been feeling lately.
I wanted the opposite. No hype. No jargon. No “bro, this is a game-changer.”
So I did a fun little side project and made The Chill List — a laid-back collection of software tools I either:
Use regularly and genuinely like, or
Haven’t tried yet, but loved what I saw in demos, write-ups, or binge-watched on YouTube at 1 AM while eating cereal
It’s literally just:
“Hey, this seems cool. Check it out if you want.”
Oh, and because I’m a nocode nerd (and a nocode consultant by day), of course I built it using nocode. That’s why the URL is thechilllist.softr.app — which, yes, is peak nocode energy. Why buy a domain when you can just flex your subdomain skills?
The rules are simple:
No complicated rating systems
No fake urgency
Just a scrollable page of tools that look or are genuinely useful
Yes, there are affiliate links. Snacks aren’t free.
The vibe:
“Oh neat, I might try that.”
“This is worth a bookmark.”
Not: “If you don’t use this tool right now, you’ll be irrelevant by Thursday.”
If that sounds like your speed, you can peek at it here: thechilllist.softr.app
And if you’ve got a favorite tool you think belongs on there, send it my way. It might make the cut — as long as it passes the highly scientific “Would I actually use this?” or “Did the YouTube video make me smile?” test.
P.S. I’m not charging for listings right now… but you know, never say never. If inflation keeps up, I might start accepting payment in snacks.
Because sometimes, the best thing you can do for your productivity is enjoy the scroll.
