I've taken a lot of advice from people in the IH community and implemented some changes to the onboarding process at www.linkstackr.com. I guess you could say I got into a rhythm and didn't realize how late/early it was until I finished.
Looking for thoughts on my product. In return, drop a link to your product and I'll reciprocate the help!
Is the product understandable? Is the process to sign up simple?
Thanks friends!
Special shoutout to
@hqnetworkamanda @yj @kaxline and others for helping me come to realize changes were needed in the first place.
Hey! good work, I think this page gets to the point quickly.
I tried going to "lnks.by/jamie" and "lnks.by/jz" since those were listed as examples, but I got a 404. Love how you changed the onboarding to let me get started right away, but still would love to be able to quickly see someone else's page as an example too.
Also, this would be more work on your side, but I wonder if your 3 questions (display, email, pw) could be shown on a modal on top of the UI to build the page. This would remove the "ugh, i hate forms" and show me if i just answer 3 q's I am RIGHT THERE. Might not be the right solution, but thought I'd offer it.
Thanks for your offer to give feedback on our page – would love to have your feedback on hq.network/vpn. Thanks!
Thank you for your feedback, again! I should definitely make sure to have some examples at those urls. Duh. :)
Love your idea about the modal over the top of the actual UI to build the page! That definitely would remove a mental hurdle of ... "another form?" and instead say, "oh.. all i need to do is fill this out and I'm good to try this out!"
Let me check out your site! I'll leave some feedback!
@hqnetworkamanda -
Your site is very clean and clear. Without knowing really what I was going to be looking at, by the time I was about 1/3 down the page I knew exactly what you were selling.
Cosmetically appealing, with a nice transition from section to section, there's not much I can add here!
The only thing I might suggest is pulling out some of the great examples of how a VPN works from the video and actually dedicating a section to that. Not sure how many people understand what a VPN is, and for those that don't, I'm not certain how many of them will actually watch the video to understand it.
Perhaps do a side by side comparison (VPN v no VPN) of how "delivering a letter" might work, that'd do all the talking you would need to convince me to use a VPN.
Just my two cents. Thanks again!
Thanks so much for the feedback. The side-by-side is a great idea.
Out of curiosity, do you already use a VPN? If not, how come?
I do not. Perhaps I'm not as worries about the information I send the internet and such. If I were more educated on it, I could possibly convert to using one. But right now I'm not worried about it. I work from home on my own network.... That may be why. If I worked all over, then I could see myself using one.
