I think app screenshots are closer to positioning than design

i used to treat app store screenshots as the last design task before launch. lately i think that was backwards.

if the screenshots cannot explain the outcome fast, the rest of the product barely gets a chance. the hard part is not making one pretty set. it is iterating the copy, order, and story until a stranger gets it quickly.

that is the problem i am trying to solve with appkit. i would love feedback from anyone who has launched a mobile app: what part of screenshot creation slows you down most?

Strong agree. Screenshots are positioning for mobile because the user is deciding “do I understand this in 3 seconds?” before they read. For Kinetic Override, the hard screenshot is not a pretty UI shot; it is showing record taps/swipes → replay loop → timing controls so “macro recorder” becomes concrete.
