I thought freelancers needed better proposals — I was wrong

When I started building AiLancerX, I assumed the main problem was writing better proposals.

But after talking to a few freelancers, I noticed something different.

Most of the time isn’t spent writing.

It’s spent before that:

  • figuring out if the job is even worth applying to

  • checking if the client is serious

  • deciding if it’s a good fit

Some people mentioned spending hours just on this part.

So now I’m starting to think:

Maybe the real problem isn’t writing faster
but deciding faster

Curious — how do you usually filter out bad jobs quickly?
