I have been working in this idea for some months, I know that at the moment there are many web whiteboards, but I think that they lack of some tools to make them more useful for teaching.
The core functionalities are the realtime whiteboard, build on webrtc for videconference (1-1, 1-n, n-n), chat, dashboard for planning the sessions.
The features that make this whiteboard different are as follows:
Since some things are not very easy to draw or hard to explain or interact with them in the whiteboard like maths or coding, this notebooks will allow to prepare in advance the information in blocks, and show to the students step by step and let them interact with some blocks.
At the moment the working blocks are:
And I'm planning to add more blocks, like Latex, quiz etc.
The file viewer will support the most common files like doc, docx, ppt,pdf .. etc. It will also allow to add videos and audios. If the file is not supported to view online will be downgraded to download only.
The host will have full control of the files like current page or when to play a video/audio.
Most whiteboard are infinite, that sounds cool but sometimes you and your audience get lost .
This whiteboard is finite but with plenty space and with unlimited whiteboards. The minimap will track the host, so the audience will always know what are you looking.
I woul like to hear from the IH community what do they think?
This is such a great idea and i do need this in production for my startup and came across this after doing 3h of google research.
