Idea validation, where do I start

Hello fellow indie hackers,

I've recently realized that the healthcare system in my country (Jordan) lacks a vital documentation system. I've heard of EPIC, which is a software that is used by hospitals and doctors in USA. Its main function is to record patients' information (past surgeries, appointments, allergies, hospital visits, history recorded, etc.). What I have witnessed happen in Jordan is that the patient usually gets transferred to a new hospital and when that happens the patient ends up carrying a pile of papers about his/her diagnosis, surgeries, history, etc. The problem is that many of these papers get lost plus usually the doctor does not have enough time to go through everything as they only care about the important stuff. To my knowledge no such system exists in Jordan yet. My question is where do I begin? How do I validate my idea? Where do I look for answers of why has this system not yet been implemented? Will it be used? Is this really a problem?
