My background is interior design and art direction. I'm not a developer. I'm someone who gets obsessed with problems that don't have good solutions yet.
By day I work in construction — that's what paid the bills while I studied design, and somehow I ended up more experienced there than in any design studio. But I've never stopped creating. Collaborations, small projects, things I build just because I'm curious. That's always been the part of me that feels most alive.
The real reason Frikt exists: a few years ago my mum got diagnosed with bipolar schizophrenia. Before the diagnosis, our family spent nearly a year not understanding what was happening. She had her psychiatrist. But we had nobody. No guidance on how to talk to her, how to help her, how to not make things worse.
I spent that time shouting at her because I didn't know what else to do.
What I needed wasn't just information. I needed to know other families had been through this and find out what actually helped them. That feeling — "am I the only one dealing with this wrong?" — is what Frikt is trying to fix.
That's why I built Frikt. A place where people can share daily frustrations — big or small — and find out they're not alone.
Mine was an exhausting, years-long problem. But most frictions are smaller than that. And those small ones deserve a place too.
Think about how Shazam was born. Someone noticed that loads of people heard songs on the radio and couldn't find them. That frustration was everywhere — nobody had just collected it yet. Frikt is that place. Where someone shares a friction, others say "same", and the app starts to see which ones are worth solving.
Not startup ideas. Not features. Just real problems from real people — and the signal that tells you which ones actually matter.
I've been building for months. 0 users. Launching Tuesday on Product Hunt.
Looking for the first 10 people willing to use it and tell me what's broken.
You can check it out at frikt.com — iOS launching Tuesday, Android coming soon.
