Indie hacker = Revolution ?
Is a successful indie hacker the absolute form of efficiency capitalism has dreamed of?
At no time in the history of mankind has a single individual been able to have so much impact on his fellow human beings.
Wait a minute?
That's a wrong assertion!
Well, let's clarify.
At no time in human history has a single individual been able to have so much impact on his or her fellow human beings without forming a team, a kingdom or a nation.
Indeed, thanks to the new tools that have appeared in recent decades, with the computer at the forefront of them, a single individual is able to develop a project that can potentially impact millions, even billions of individuals: without forming a team, a group and or any kind of social hierarchy.
In other words, wouldn't we be at the dawn of a revolution?
A little over a decade ago, startups disrupted entire industries with an efficiency that had never been achieved in history.
Would the next wave come from indie hackers?
One person capable of revolutionizing an industry from home with a workforce reduced to himself and his computer?
It would be great to know what is in your crystal ball (a.k.a your intuition).
I don't know, just think about the level of experience, expertise, burocracy or regulatory work must be done in a lot of industries...
I think it's pretty difficult for anyone to revolutionize any industry by himself, but I think being an indie hacker, building a product in a particular industry may provide awesome leverage to drive that industry in a particular direction or even be the foundation of a company that would achieve that "revolution" in the end.
