Initially, I thought of building rentyourdomain.net as a meeting point for two parties (domainer & founder). I'd just help them meet each other & rest all would be done by them at their ends, but this would be quite easy for me & wouldn't be that much valuable for my users so I have decided to do this the hard way.
I'll be making rentyourdomain.net into a full-fledged marketplace where domainers just need to list their domain-names & rest all including charging rent etc would be done by the platform itself. On the other hand, founders would've to just pay the rent & rest all including making sure that the domainer doesn't sell away that domain-name to someone else would be handled by the platform.
TBH, I don't have much idea at the moment about how I'd be doing this but I am sure I'll figure it out along the way (Insha'Allah)... I'd love it if you could join me in this journey providing your valuable suggestions & feedbacks.

What would prevent a renter to sell the domain directly with the domain name provider?
this is not about selling domain-names, but renting it
I understand your idea. My question was: if I rent a domain from Namecheap on your platform... And then I decide to sell that domain on Namecheap. Effectively, the new owner on Namecheap might not want to keep renting the domain and leaving you with an unhappy customer.
How are you going to stop me from doing that?
I'm not sure we are on the same page here.. you won't be renting the domain from Namecheap or GoDaddy but from its current owners.
