Inflection points in marketing: does it get easier?

We started testing out marketing channels a month ago and it's been a slow grind, which is expected. I'm wondering if anyone has a framework for how to think about growing an audience, creating content, going viral, etc.

Does it get significantly easier once your audience is a certain size? For example with 1,000 followers, does your base network grow and make marketing exponentially easier than at 100 followers? What about 50,000 followers?
