Hi fellow IndieHackers!

After months of designing, developing & testing I've launched @Betterfolio in beta and I am looking for first beta testers now.

πŸ‘‰ https://betterfolio.app
Bonus: All users signing up during the beta launch can use the product for free forever.

If you are interested in testing, signup for the product and play around with the features. I would love to hear your feedback on it!

Many thanks in advance πŸ™

I don't understand why they ask for the "price per share". They already give it.

We show you the most recent price per share of the stock you want to add. But lets say you bought the stock a couple of months ago, the price per share might have been a different one.

Nice first impression from a design perspective. Good luck!

Like the overall experience, good design. My stock brokerage account has a pretty good app that has my portfolio already, and shows a pretty good overview of how my portfolio has changed over time, and how it's looking now - the value, gains, cost basis, etc. What sort of assets can I add - a text box works for stocks but not great if multiple categories of assets can be added and I have to discover them - is it only stocks atm? Look forward to seeing what else you add

Thanks for your feedbach, very appreciated! Right now you can add more than 120.000 symbols of stocks, ETFs, mutual funds and bonds, but I am planning to add support also for crypto and other cash equivalent (i.e. real estate) asset classes.
What broker are you using btw? I am asking because I am planning also to add a direct broker integration in order to sync your holdings automatically.

I use TD Ameritrade. Yeah, API integration seems natural for a portfolio management app. I suppose an obvious issue is going to be trust - hard to get people to let you give access to financial accounts.

You’re definitely right, that could be an issue. The direct integration would be read-only though
