Is anyone building around Mastodon?

I've had some fantastic success in the past with building auxiliary tools for Twitter, like an analytics platform (which was surprisingly used almost as much by individuals as businesses). So, with the drama going on over there at the moment, I figured it may be worth preparing and researching for a potential exodus to Mastodon, just in case.

So far, at least from my perspective, no worthwhile movement seems to have happened. Brands are VERY SLOWLY appearing, if at all. I've seen a Microsoft Azure account I think, with 16 followers, so understandably not a great rush.

The concept of having to be quick to secure a username is also not really there, so this isn't helping to drive growth either.

I've built a basic analytics platform for Mastodon, similar to what I had for Twitter, but it's awfully quiet. It's one of those things where maybe, maybe we're just early and things will eventually pick up, or nothing will ever happen at all, because it is fundamentally so different to what we had with Twitter.

Any thoughts on this? Are you building for Mastodon? I am super curious to hear from people who've been seeing some success on that front.
