Is it a good idea to propose lifetime deals at AppSumo?
I have an idea to boost marketing efforts for my Norns AI (email icebreakers generator) using AppSumo or similar services.
But I'm still hesitating.
What pitfalls could be with lifetime deals?
What is your experience with launching products in this way?

Does publishing on AppSumo prevents or restricts further marketing activities via other channels in future?
It depends.
If you are just staring out, then yes, that could be a good idea to get a lot of users. Don't do it for the money (because you won't make much given the revenue cut). The point of doing these kinds of sales is to get users in the door early for your product so that you get real use-cases and therefore can iterate quickly.
If you are established, don't do it. There are many reasons not to, but primarily because it devalues your business like crazy.

It seems they need kind of proof of traction like regular investors for bootstrap products to proceed, which means that I need to have an established product anyway.
Even though I have users (including paid ones) it's still not enough so I got vibes of fundraising a seed round :)
