Is Remote Working Really Challenging? 🤔
When the pandemic had hit the world, every business out there was thrown off track. The situation was so unprecedented that it didn't matter whether you were a Fortune 500 company or a small scale startup, you simply had to switch to working from home.
Since we were about to enter the peak phase of product development cycle, it became much more challenging to work around this problem. In order to help other fellow indie hackers in this journey, I began documenting the challenges I faced while working remotely on building app.ruttl.com. Although initially it was difficult to adapt, through proper planning and use of online tools such as Notion, Google (Docs, Sheets, Slides), ruttl (and many more tools!) my team was able to swiftly switch to an online working methodology.

I've worked remotly for the good part of last three years. It can be challenging. The communication is an obvious problem.
The second thing, visible after a few months is lack of inspiration from others. I'm a software developer, and live cooperation with other brilliant people was essential to growth of my skills. It's hard to have this same experience online.
And the last thing is isolation. After some month you miss you colleagues and may feel lonely.
So strictly professional communication isn't the only problem.

Communication is a pretty big issue I agree!
I guess the availablity of so many tools in the market has made this entire transition super smooth!
I have particularly become fond of Discord, Slack and Notion. I can't imagine how things would have functioned if these tools didn't exist!

Tools can never be the only solution to solving remote working.
I agree that they are huge number of other factors that affect our mental health in a remote environment as well.
That being said, the intention of writing this article was to acknowledge some of the many issues that remote challenging creates in a work environment.
