Is submitting on startup directories a good idea?

https://www.jobtrackable.com/

I am struggling to decide if I should submit https://www.jobtrackable.com/ at startup directories. Is it spam or can I really get traffic and customers from there?

As far as I feel, apart from Product Hunt, nobody ever visits these directories to find a product so it is better to not devote time and effort to these directories. Thoughts?

When I saw your startup firstly, I thought you should look at how Airbnb grew initially. Its team visited sites like Craiglist and then reached out with people who posted offers there.

I guess all depends of your product.
If your product is helping other entrepreneurs (like design plateform, new marketing tool, geek plateform...), it's worth it.
But if it's a game, not sure it helps...

Not all of them are worthless, though. Betalist has brought me a lot of customers.

There is also value in having more backlinks to your project

In researching backlinks for blogging purposes, I learned to be careful with low-quality backlinks. Supposedly, they count AGAINST your search ranking if they come from places like spammy directories or content mills.

Now if there was a directory for good directories... :D

        I personally have colorsandfonts.com on 20 + directories.

The worst directory of all was beta page.

        No traffic at all, literally...
