Is there a tool to analyse a subreddit?
I am trying to analyse the trends in a subreddit and try to get a sense of people are talking about most often.
Is there some ready made tool that can help with that?

I have this idea stuck in my head about how everything is a forum/social feed now, and it's harder to find good, categorized content .
Analyzing subreddits would make it easy to find what topics people care about in a niche, and what the common advice is.
I'll bet an automated tool could even organize and display useful subreddit content pretty decently (maybe ML stuff, also guessing that would lead to some copyright issues).
Ya I had the same idea and assumed there would be a ton of tools doing it. But my google fu is failing me and I cannot find any.
I might look at building something if I cannot find anything but you are right there might be some data issues.

I am thinking of launching a product in the healthcare supplement space. But before I do I am trying to narrow down the focus area and target one niche in that space. I want to start off with one product, so I am trying to narrow down my focus. I have a gut feel that general health supplements will be in demand right now with the pandemic. But I want data to either prove or disprove my hypothesis. So I was hoping to analyse a subreddit to get that data.

I am building a similar tool but mainly for personal use. Not just limited to reddit but popular news portals, blogs, hackernews. Basically allowing you to create a feed, choose keywords that you want to search for and display in a dashboard.
Won't something like mention.com do that?
I have no idea what mention.com is, will check it now. I was just making it for fun and personally to look for content containing specific keywords. It's still a work in progress.
Yeah, I've seen some resources about this. In essence, you can do that through a combination of browser extensions that will allow you to get information by XPath, and then export to a spreadsheet. I've never done it myself though, so I don't have any specific tool recommendations.
Thanks but I think you might be referring to scraping reddit. I think it would be easier to get the data through the API but that is just me. Maybe I misunderstood what the extension does.

I am interested in the word cloud. Any idea on how far back the analysis will go? I would be interested in seeing a trend for a particular keyword
