Is Twitter an effective channel for your product?

I am curious if Twitter is an effective channel for you all to reach people to use your products.

It might be the fact that I am building a B2B tool and not B2C but it feels like Twitter is fruitless. Additionally some of the companies in my space who already have tens of thousands of followers see only a handful of interactions on their tweets. Makes me feel like that even if I was able to grow my account to a large following it is prone to dying easily.
