How it started

It all started while I was looking for an affiliate platform to integrate with
Paddle.

There was a problem: customer data must then be sent to that third party, so we get into all sorts of GDPR issues.

I already had a licensing and distribution system. With the added affiliate system, it started to feel like most of what's needed to sell my products lives in a single self-hosted system.

It seems obvious now

It does make sense to have everything in one place: everything is logically coupled.

🔗Got a sale? Store the affiliate next to the license.

📞Customer support? You have to check their license key.

⬇️They want to download the product? License check!

Why scatter your data?

Business idea?

I am very happy with this system. It feels liberating to not have to worry about 4 different SaaS subscriptions, integrations, privacy of shared customer data or be worried that I would soon reach the plan limits.

I can now break out of vendor lock-ins, surprise price increases and random downtimes.

The only integration required is with the payment provider (e.g. Paddle, Stripe).
