Key Elements of a Successful Course

I am building my first course. The course is intended to teach students how to design and implement a Kalman filter algorithm.

I have already written an ebook but would like to create a course option.

I am struggling to determine the modules, proper length, and best tools to create the course.

Can anyone help point me in the right direction?
