๐ŸŽ„Launch a Start Up before Christmas Challenge ๐ŸŽ„Round up

Hi all! ๐Ÿ‘‹
Now that we are slowly coming back from holidays I think it's time to look back at the challenge and see how it went and if it was useful for us ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Was the challenge successful? Did you launch your idea? ๐Ÿš€

This is the list of all 18 IndieHackers (including myself) that joined this challenge ๐Ÿ‘ฅ๐Ÿ‘ฅ๐Ÿ‘ฅ๐Ÿ‘ฅ๐Ÿ‘ฅ

Let us know how it went!

Got most of the work done for pcsalesapp.com in just one weekend, which I didn't realize was possible. Inspired to do more small projects like this in 2020. I need to learn strategies for driving traffic since I'm only getting 10-20 visitors/day. Maybe my next project will have something to do with building a social media presence.

I quietly launched freshload.co and got more focused on my upcoming Kickstarter so it's been untouched since. I was happy to jump into this challenge and I'll circle back around to it shortly.

    Thanks for doing this @tropianhs!

We ran a soft launch and opened up a free pilot program for early users. We were able to connect with interested folks and have the widgets running on their sites now. We were able to collect feedback on what was working from them as well and adjusted some priorities around backend indexing and web interface for better control over widget operations.

If anyone in here would like to try out Navigator ( smart search bar / hotkey navigation for all websites: https://navigator.bytebeacon.com) please do reach out. We're looking for more users for our free pilot offering.

@tropianhs: Just noticed you have this posted in 2 difference spaces. Might want to delete one as it may confuse folks

    I will start!

Resolut.it was launched on December 28. I really wanted to launch on the 26th but I had no experience with PH so I messed up a bit ๐Ÿ˜…

The launch went well I would say, Resolut.it received 43 upvotes and ended up number 8 that day โœŒ๏ธ

People kept coming to the website and registered for the next couple of days. I think Resolut.it was picked up by some tumblr blog post and that got me some traffic, I was lucky! ๐Ÿ€

However the peak of visits faded out quickly from 200 users the first day to 14 yesterday ๐Ÿ“‰
So far 159 users registered on the app and 145 resolutions were created.

I improved the app after the launch including some new features (a progress bar for each resolution) and I am planning to implement some more new features ๐Ÿ’ป

Overall I think the Xmas challenge was very helpful for me. I would have never launched this product without it. It was an idea I had in the back of my mind for some time and I am happy to have created it ๐Ÿ˜€

Now the big challenge is to understand if this thing I built can be useful for anyone. I think it is, at least it is useful for me. I would need to keep the users engaged with it, maybe with regular email updates and reminders to update their progress. Also, it wouldn't hurt to get some more users, but I really have no idea how to grow at this point ๐Ÿ˜…

Thanks for reading! And of course, any suggestion is welcome!
