Launch Mindsnap: How I got my first 500 users

It's been a wild ride since my last post, and I'm back with an update on Mindsnap, the learning app I've been pouring my heart into. For those who missed it, Mindsnap offers bite-sized lessons on art, history, philosophy, psychology, and economics - born from my own struggle to keep learning while juggling life's demands.

Last week, we finally launched, and I wanted to share some real talk about the experience. It's been exhilarating, terrifying, and everything in between.

The numbers so far:

1. Somehow landed in the Top 50 educational apps in two countries (still pinching myself)
2. Over 500 downloads (each one feels like a small victory)
3. 70 trial starts with a 40% conversion rate to purchase (is this beginner's luck?)

How did I got here:

Pre-Launch:

1. Built a waitlist through Meta ads - about 300 leads and 250 Instagram followers.
2. Dove into Instagram, learning to create posts with Canva. Turns out, engaging with other accounts makes a big difference.
3. Researched micro-influencers in our niche. Haven't used this yet, but it's ready for future campaigns.

Launch Day:

1. Posted on Reddit - the feedback from iOS app subreddits was invaluable.
2. Asked friends to spread the word -asked everyone to post, no matter how many followers they have!
3. Experimented with Reddit ads in niche subreddits.
4. Emailed our waitlist with a launch discount - got 62 opens on the first email and 68 on the second

Post-Launch:

1. Taking user feedback seriously - it's shaping the current roadmap.
2. Committed to fresh weekly content - it's challenging but crucial.
3. Start working on ASO.
4. Launch Meta Ads

I'll be honest - this is all new territory for me. Mindsnap is the first product I've launched that's gaining real traction, and it's both exciting and scary. There's so much to learn, and I'm grateful for communities like this one.
