Launched Just Log — The Most Minimalistic Workout Tracker
Three months ago, I was paying way more for a fitness app where I used maybe 25% of the features. Every workout meant fighting through social feeds, meal planners, and AI coaches just to log “80kg x 8 reps.”
The final straw? Getting a dinner notification about someone else’s PR while I was mid-set.
So I built my own solution.
Meet Just Log
Just Log is a minimalist workout tracker with one mission: get you OUT of the app faster, not keep you scrolling.
What it does
1000+ exercises with smart search
Custom routine creation (3 free, unlimited premium)
Color-coded calendar showing what workout to do next
PR tracking with trophy indicators
Custom daily counters (pushups, pullups, etc.)
Zero notifications, ever
Three clean themes
What it doesn’t do
Social feeds or friend features
Meal planning or nutrition tracking
AI coaching or motivational quotes
Marketplace or supplement sales
Progress photos or transformation stories
The Build
I built it in public on Twitter for 60+ days, growing from 30 → 500+ followers by sharing daily progress and being brutally honest about the struggles. The response was incredible — people were genuinely excited about an app that did less.
Tech stack:
Android: Kotlin, Jetpack Compose
iOS: Swift, SwiftUI
Pricing: $1.99/month (5x cheaper than competitors)
Launch Results
Android launched first: weeks went by, 0 sales.
Then iOS launched: within 72 hours → 5 sales, and in less than a week → 10 paying users (~$20 MRR).
100+ active Android users (still $0 revenue).
The difference was night and day. Same app, same price, but iOS users actually convert. Each sale notification in App Store Connect felt like winning the lottery.
Current Status
$20 MRR from iOS within the first week
Growing waitlist of 200+ people from building in public
Tons of positive feedback about the “no-bullshit” approach
Next goal: $100 MRR

This really resonates. I've been building VigiGym — a minimalist workout tracker for iPhone and Apple Watch, built entirely in Swift — and the core philosophy is identical: get people in, log the workout, get out. No social feeds, no AI coaches, no friction.
The fact that you went from 0 to paying users within the first week on iOS is impressive. The 'less is more' positioning is clearly landing with the right audience. Congrats on the launch — excited to see where this goes!
