As a rapper, I would look for instrumentals on YouTube, open a notes app, and write to the beat. I would have to switch back and forth between applications to rewind, fast forward, pause, and replay as I made progress composing a verse. If I wanted to use words unfamiliar to my vocabulary, I opened a rhyming dictionary or thesaurus to find word associations. Once finished, I would share my lyrics and the YouTube link with collaborators via email or a file sharing app. Nowadays, I only need one tool for all of this.
