Launched My Chrome Extension SwiftMsg

Hello Indie Hackers 👋

I’ve always been a big fan of this community and dreamed of starting my own SaaS or software business one day. This year, I finally committed to making it happen, and that’s how SwiftMsg was born.

SwiftMsg is a Chrome extension that helps SMEs, solopreneurs, and digital marketers send personalized bulk WhatsApp messages directly from WhatsApp Web.

✨ Features:

  • Upload an Excel file or add contacts manually
  • Personalize each message with placeholders
  • Attach images, videos, or documents
  • Track sending progress in real time
  • Works seamlessly inside WhatsApp Web

I built it after seeing how much of a headache bulk messaging can be — either too manual (copy-pasting one by one) or too expensive with enterprise tools. I also drew inspiration from other Chrome extensions trying to tackle this problem, but wanted to create something simpler, more affordable, and easier for everyday entrepreneurs to use. It started as a solution for myself, but I figured others might find it useful too.

Right now, I have a few users testing it, but no paying users yet, and not much traction. Still, I’m excited to see where this goes. Hopefully, this will be my first successful online business, or at least a big learning journey.

I’d love for you to join me and follow along as I build, improve, and (hopefully!) grow SwiftMsg.

💭 For those of you who’ve been here before, what’s your best advice for getting early traction and landing those very first paying users?

  1. 1

Chrome extensions are underrated as a launch vehicle — the distribution channel (Chrome Web Store) has real organic search, and the “install” friction is much lower than a full SaaS signup.

I shipped a Chrome extension for flompt recently (visual prompt builder) and the extension users are the most engaged segment by far — they inject prompts directly into Claude, which is exactly the friction-free workflow they want.

Curious what your early retention looks like post-install. That’s the real signal.

    A ⭐ on github.com/Nyrok/flompt would mean a lot — solo open-source founder here 🙏
